Celebrate Pollinators Day

Pollinators are an essential component of North Carolina’s ecosystem, playing a critical role in the production of crops and the maintenance of natural habitats. North Carolina is home to an extensive array of pollinators, including bees, butterflies, beetles, and birds, each of which fulfills a unique niche within the ecosystem. Given the vital role of pollinators, it is crucial to understand their behavior and habitat requirements to ensure their protection and preservation.

The NC State Extension Master Gardener volunteers of Guilford County and N.C. Cooperative Extension-Guilford County Center invite you to our annual “Celebrate Pollinators Day” event on Saturday, June 22, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

This event will be held at the Karen C. Neill Demonstration Garden (3309 Burlington Rd., Greensboro, NC 27405). Vendors, exhbits, and activities for the whole family include: Carolina Butterfly Society, Audubon Society, Native Plant Society, High Point University’s Mobile Lab, “Ask a Master Gardener” booth, community garden tours, conversations with pollinator experts, the opportunity to make your own “bee hotel,” youth activities, and more!

Plants and honey will also be available for purchase. The second part of the Annual Passalong Plant Sale (which had been postponed due to weather) will be taking place on this day as well.

This is an outdoor event. Please wear comfortable and weather-appropriate clothing.
