Grower’s Certificates are for agricultural products that are grown/raised/produced in Guilford County, North Carolina Certificates expire on December 31st, 2026. Grower’s Certificates are maintained by N.C. Cooperative Extension, Guilford County Center to certify producers who are selling agricultural products grown in Guilford County. Local farmer’s markets or other sellers may ask for a Grower’s Certificate to show that your products are from Guilford County. They can also serve as a marketing piece for your local foods! The process for 2026 is changing for obtaining your annual Grower’s Certificate. There are THREE parts to the process this year including:
Part 1: Submitting an application to the Guilford County Cooperative Extension Office (in-person or online). Find more information below.
Part 2: Have a 15-30 minute farm visit by an Extension Agent to ensure that your local goods are grown in Guilford County. ***Farm visits are only required every three years. For 2026, only farms that have not had a visit in 2025 will be required to have a farm visit this year.
Your farm visit will be scheduled within two business days of your application being delivered to N.C. Cooperative Extension, Guilford County Center or submitted online. Getting your application in early is critical since we can not guarantee farm visits happening in the same week as the application is submitted
Part 3: Once approved, get your certificate via mail, email, or pick-up at the Extension Office.
