Approximately 13.9% of Guilford County residents are food insecure, meaning that they do not have access to enough food for a healthy and active life (Feeding America, 2018 and USDA, 2022).
The Greater High Point Food Alliance, a partner of the N.C. Cooperative Extension – Guilford County Center, has developed a mobile app to help the community find access to food resources.
The Greater Guilford Food Finder App is a powerful tool in combating food insecurity. It is available on Android and iOS platforms. App users can search for food resources in their area, use a variety of filters, and can trust that the data in the application us up-to-date. Food pantries, soup kitchens, and summer meal locations are just some of the resources that can be found by using the application.
The application also has information on services for seniors, resources for individuals experiencing homelessness, and emergency services.
