Why Participate?
From a Parent’s Perspective
4-H presentations help youth build confidence, communication skills, and responsibility — all in a supportive environment. Preparing for County Activity Day teaches organization, goal-setting, and follow-through. Youth also receive constructive feedback that helps them grow, and they can earn VLA funds for participating.
From a Youth’s Perspective
You get to choose a topic you care about and share it with others. Presenting helps you stand out in school, scholarships, and future jobs. It might feel a little nerve-wracking at first — but finishing your presentation (and possibly advancing to District or State!) is incredibly rewarding. Plus, you can earn money while building real-world skills.
