Has your Guilford County neighborhood, place of worship, or other citizens group thought about starting a community garden next spring? Consider applying for a Community Garden Start-Up Grant!

The purpose of the Start-Up Grant Program is to provide funding and mentoring for new Guilford County community gardens that will break ground in 2025. Grants in the amount of $300 each will be dispersed to accepted applications on a “rolling basis” (first come, first served) beginning on February 2, 2026, through September 1, 2026, or until all Guilford County EMG budgeted funds have been allocated.

The application requests a detailed description of the planned project, a plan for going forward, and a detailed account of how the money will be used.

The online version of the application can be accessed HERE

You can access the paper copy (for printing) HERE beginning January 16, 2026

Paper applications can be mailed or brought to:
3309 Burlington Rd., Greensboro, NC 27405

If you have any issues with or concerns around submitting an application, please contact Holly Key (hmkey@ncsu.edu).
