Approximately 15.2% of Guilford County residents are food insecure, meaning that they do not have access to enough food for a healthy and active life (Feeding America, 2018 and USDA, 2023).
The Greater High Point Food Alliance (GHPFA), a partner of the N.C. Cooperative Extension – Guilford County Center, has developed a mobile app to help the community find access to food resources.
The Greater Guilford Food Finder app, an initiative of the GHPFA, is a free, easy-to-use tool that helps residents quickly locate emergency food resources—including pantries, free meals, and community kitchens—across Guilford County. By offering real-time, up-to-date information on local food access points, the app helps neighbors find assistance quickly and reduces barriers to accessing nutritious food during urgent situations. Community partners are encouraged to share this resource to connect families, seniors, and individuals experiencing hardship with local support in their area.
The application also has information on services for seniors, resources for individuals experiencing homelessness, and emergency services. It is available on Android and iOS platforms.Additional Resources
