In partnership with its Strategic Planning Council, the Cooperative Extension Program at N.C. A&T State University will host the 2020 Grassroots Leadership Conference on Thursday, October 22, 2020, 8:30 a.m.–1 p.m. This year’s conference will be conducted virtually. The conference theme is “Creating Equitable Solutions for Stronger Communities.” 


The virtual conference will include three sections: (1) a general session with a keynote speaker, (2) breakout sessions, and (3) a capstone event featuring action planning. You must register for each section on the registration form.

Our keynote speaker is Dr. Jermaine Davis, Professor of Communication Studies at Century College and Organizational Leadership at St. Catherine University (in Minnesota). His presentation will be on “Leading the Way of Positive Change.”

After the general session, additional breakout sessions will include:

  • In Pursuit of the Next Gen Innovators
  • The Power of Dialogue in Facilitating Racial Understanding
  • More than a Mask: Minority Health, COVID and Beyond
  • Be the Change: It Starts with You
  • Promoting Food Equity: Steps Communities Can Take

The conference will conclude with a capstone session with Dr. Davis. Here you will have an opportunity to put your ideas into action. He will be presenting on “Transformational Leadership in Action.” It will be an impactful day.
