Michelle Danyluk, PhD

Michelle Danyluk, a professor and extension specialist, has been involved in many produce safety research, outreach, and extension projects related to production, harvest, packing, transportation, retail, and consumer handling, for many commodities and pathogens. Dr. Danyluk is a member of the UF produce safety extension team (includes Co-PIs Chapin and Krug), responsible for conducting workshops related to GAPs, GHPs, BHPs, HACCP, and FSMA (PSA, FSPCA PCHF and FSVP) for the FL specialty crop community; recently this has expanded to include COVID-19 related questions, webinars, and virtual office hours.

Naim Montazeri, PhD
Co-Principal Investigator
Naim Montazeri is an Assistant Professor of Food Virology at the University of Florida – Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition. His research focuses on the ecology of viruses; environmental transmission of viruses; and development of mitigation strategies for the decontamination of viruses in food, water, and contact surfaces.

Keith Schneider, PhD
Co-Principal Investigator
Keith Schneider is currently a professor and extension specialist in the Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition Department at the University of Florida. He has been involved in many produce safety related research, teaching, and extension projects. His research and extension work specializes in food microbiology focused on the production, harvest, packing, transportation, retail, and consumer handling. In addition to his research and teaching duties, he is engaged in numerous extension outreach activities, generates educational materials and conducts food safety training workshops primarily focusing on FSMA and other related topics. He received his Master’s in Public Health from the University of South Florida and his PhD from the University of Florida’s Food Science and Human Nutrition Department.

Matt Krug, MS
Co-Principal Investigator
Matt Krug is a State Specialized Extension Agent, Food Science, based at the University of Florida Southwest Florida Research and Education Center. He is a member of the University of Florida produce safety extension team, responsible for conducting workshops for the FL specialty crop community.
