Guilford County Shows Out at the NUEL Conference - May 2025
Agriculture Agent, Marcus Williams; Outreach Specialist, Sonni Dudley; and Food Security Program Assistant, Melodie Melbouci, presented their poster at the National Urban Extension Leaders Conference, “HarvestConnect: A Model for Strengthening Farmer-Restaurant Collaboration,” to promote the collaboration of farmers, horticulture agents, and digital skills agents to strengthen local food networks between restaurants and local producers.
Food Security Program Assistant, Melodie Melbouci, also presented her poster on the Food Security Photovoice Project at the NUEL Conference titled, “Framing the Future: A Photovoice Exploration of Food Justice," which the food security team launched in April.
Community & School Gardens Agent, Crystal Mercer, and Horticulture Agent, Taylor Jones, conducted one of the presentation sessions at the conference in Durham titled, “Connecting School Gardens with Experts and Growing Their Own.”
