Guilford County Self-Guided Local Farm Tours

  • Location: Local Food Week Farm Tour Booklet of participating farms and locations
  • Cost: Most tours are free, check the list for fees and registration requirements
  • Tour goers who collect 3 or more stamps earn a free drink at Deep Roots Market

Mobile Oasis Mobile Market – Bringing the Farm to You

  • Location: Public Health Building, 1100 E. Wendover Ave., Greensboro

Getting Started in Beekeeping – If you have considered keeping bees, this overview will explain when, where and how to get honey bees as well as the basic equipment needed to get started. There will be an observation hive which will allow people to see a functioning colony while keeping the bees enclosed. The session will also include information about the organization of a honey bee colony. Presented by The Guilford County Beekeepers Association.

  • Location: Demonstration Garden at Cooperative Extension, 3309 Burlington Road, Greensboro
  • Cost: Free

Cooking From the Garden – Chef Jay Pierce (The Marshall Free House) will be demonstrating how to enhance our cooking with foods from local gardens. Tastings and recipes provided.

  • Location: Lab Kitchen at Cooperative Extension, 3309 Burlington Road, Greensboro

Kids Story Time Summer Garden: Join us for books, rhymes, and a flannel board story about delicious summer fruits and vegetables. Ages birth – 5.
