TOUR OF GATEWAY GARDENS
Gateway Gardens provides a stunning entry into the City of Greensboro and is a horticultural oasis integrating elements of history, movement, discovery and community. Formally opened to the public in 2011, it is a playful interactive garden eventually spanning 11 acres. Gateway Gardens represents the biggest project by Greensboro Beautiful so far, and is a certified LEED Silver project by the U.S. Green Building Council since 2014. There is a visitor’s center with restroom facilities and the garden is handicap accessible. Wear comfortable shoes and weather appropriate clothing. Rain or shine. Tour will be led by Derek Harmon, Gateway Gardens Landscape Supervisor, City of Greensboro Parks and Recreation Department.
