Picture of homemade and homecanned salsa.Canning and Food Preservation is a safe, economical way to preserve quality food at home. Canning interrupts the normal spoiling and decaying cycle of food. This is done by heating the food contained in a home canning jar and closing it with a two-piece vacuum sealing cap. Canning homegrown foods can save you half the cost of buying commercially canned food. Canning your favorite and special products to be enjoyed by family and friends is a fulfilling experience and a source of pride for many people!
