Scale Calibration March 22nd

— Written By and last updated by

Did you know 80% of the scales that are tested in North Carolina read on the minus side? That means you are losing profit if you are selling fruits and vegetables on scales that are not accurate.

Michael Beal from NCDA will be here at the Guilford Extension office on Thursday March 22nd from 10 until 1 checking scales. If you do not have time to wait on your scale or cannot make it on Thursday, please bring your scale Wednesday afternoon before 5 pm or Thursday morning after 8 am. We will get them labeled and have them checked, ready for them to pick back up later on the 22nd. There is no fee for this service but if they catch someone with a scale that has not been done there could be a fine. Please help us get the word out to the farmers who will be selling produce this year.
