2017 Soybean Yield and MEY Contests

— Written By and last updated by
The rules and entry form for the 2017 NC Soybean Yield, and Most Efficient Yield, contests are now posted at ncsoybeancontest.ncsu.edu/. The highest yield recorded to date in each county is shown on the attached map.
The rules are essentially unchanged from 2016. Entries must be mailed by Christmas. There is still a $2,500 bonus (or $5,000 if the farmer was a member of the American Soybean Association when the field was planted) for the first yield over 100 Bu/A. Note that there are some additional rules for receiving that bonus — 2 agents from different counties, and a tape measure (not a wheel).
Questions, and suggestions, are welcome — 919/515-5813, or jim_dunphy@ncsu.edu.
